I consider this blog more of a "Come to Jesus" moment. My clients are very familiar with these types of moments. I would define them as, "A moment where the truth is going to come full force, whether you like it or not." The title of this blog is simple, yet intense. Why do we not consider health important? Do we seriously feel that nothing will ever hurt us? Do we feel that our bodies aren't affected when we don't eat right or exercise? In the 20+ years of me being a personal trainer, I could never wrap my head around that. A lot of us come in with the right intentions, meaning we want to feel better, we want to look better, we want to be healthier, but sometimes the "Investment" in their health isn't what they assumed it would be. It's not like what you see on shows like "The Biggest Loser." Those individuals are literally working out 6-10 hours a day under the guidance of doctors, nutritionists, physiologists, and personal trainers. That's why when someone leaves the show, they either gain all of the weight back, or end up in a worst situation then they started with. It's never a quick fix. Anyone who thinks getting healthy and fit is something that could practically happen overnight then maybe reading this blog will just frustrate you. Making the change, the commitment to do something about your health is an INVESTMENT. It takes time. It takes a long time. Not saying your body and your health will not change along the way, but you should never eI xpect anything that important to come fast and easy. I've been in this for a long time. As a 42 year old man who has won bodybuilding championships and has helped change over 700 lives with personal training, I'm still working on myself. It's something that you should never stop! If i decided today to stop eating right, exercising, and taking care of myself, I would end up sick, tired, in pain, and maybe worse. It's an investment people! It's an everyday, for the rest of your life, type of investment.

We, as people, are quick to invest in anything other than our health. We will invest in: cars, retirement funds, clothes, and homes. My question is this, if you become sick or heaven forbid, pass away, what do these items mean then? What do these types of investments mean if you're not alive to enjoy them? The single most important investment we should have is our health. I'm not telling you to avoid paying your bills, or avoid working hard and acquiring the material things that you've earned, but in the forefront of all of these should be you. Here are 4 things you can do right now to start investing in yourself:
1. Drink more water
2. When you wake up and before you go to bed, stretch
3. Eat breakfast
4. EXERCISE
Let's start doing preventative maintenance on ourselves like we do with our cars, homes, and boats.
